MAINTENANCE GUIDE FOR ENCAUSTIC CEMENT TILES
MAINTENANCE GUIDE FOR HADEDA ENCAUSTIC CEMENT TILES
Please read carefully on how to maintain cement tiles.
These handmade tiles need to be maintained properly in order to keep their beauty.
- First Cleaning After Installation
The first cleaning should be after 3 days, but not more than 7 days after construction and applying the protective sealer.
- Cleaning the Floor Daily
Floor tiles should be wiped and cleaned daily to protect the surface. Do not use chemical cleaners that contain acid. Use any type of floor cleaning liquid not containing acid to clean the floor. We recommend DEEPCLEAN, a product supplied by Stone Shield.
- Routine Maintenance
In high traffic areas, it is recommended that a protective sealer be applied every 6 to 12 months. Before applying, please comply with these guidelines of the cleaning process-let the floor dry – apply the first coat of sealer – allow it to dry – before applying the second coat. Should you have any problems, please contact Hadeda for assistance.
- Removing Stains
Important note: DO NOT use detergents with strong acids, as they will the damage the surface of the floor tiles. If tea; coffee; oil; wine, etc is spilt on the floor it should be cleaned as soon as possible. If left over a long period of time, stains can penetrate into the floor and will be difficult to remove later.
To remove stains, you can use fine water sandpaper (320/400). Gently rub until you see the stains fade. Immediately wipe off any residue in order not to affect any other parts of the tile surface. Let the floor dry then apply the protective sealer to the area that has been cleaned.
- Cleaning with Special Chemicals
Please see above for our recommendation.
